The Infamous Unkle Sherman, rascally radio wrangler, part-time train robber,
KFAT survivor, and holder of the all-time "fired from KPIG" record is in
the KPIG sty every Thursday through Saturday from 7 P.M.- Midnight.
Saturday night at 10 P.M. Sherman does the DIRTY BOOGIE.
Listen to Yer Unkle, on the PIG, Sunday from 2-6pm.
"Unkle Sherman's like this notorious character for us. It's a station of characters,
but Sherman does dirty songs. It's all pretty much off-color stuff on Saturday night
from 10pm-midnight. It's the blue light district.
"
Laura Ellen, KPIG Program Director
Unkle Sherman, is recognized from his appearances
in local T.V. ads, on camera and voice-over.
Why, you might have even seen Unkle in the movin'
pictures, both T.V. and film. Most recently the HBO series, DEADWOOD.
Yer Unkle, on set at DEADWOOD
Using the moniker, "Pappy" Yer Unkle Sherman has been known to rob a train or two
at the Roaring Camp, Big Trees Railroad in Felton, California. Pappy causes the tourists,
especially, "rich widder wimmen" and lawyers, to tremble in their shoes.
Sherman also portrays Isaac Graham, the historic bad boy of Santa Cruz county.
Mr. Graham, Tennesee moonshiner and cousin of Davy Crockett, was the first person to confront the Mexican
government in the 1830's with a band of rowdies to demand independance for California from Mexico.
"Graham was quite colorful and Unkle Sherman portrays him with delight".
Georgiana Clark, CEO, Roaring Camp, Big Trees Railroad
"Pappy" is the persona Unkle Sherman also uses to portray a Civil War bounty hunter.
With a gang of civilian reprobates, dressed in period clothing and gear, "Pappy" and gang
appear at Civil War re-enactments and create havoc with the Army volunteers from both North and South.
Providing "laudanum", "comfort wimmen", spirits, games of chance and catching miscreants and
cowardly persons, both Yankee and Rebel for a just compensation, this gang of colorful bounty hunters
enhances any Civil War re-enactment in which they're paid to participate.
E-Mail for information
and references.
Sherman, when asked, brings the Isacc Graham or "Pappy" character to Monterey Bay area schools
and libraries. Please
Contact us to bring first person, living history to your school or event.
"Possessing an encyclopedic knowledge in early American music forms,
an affinity for turn of the century clothes, Unkle Sherman,as modern as his sensibilities
as an entertainer are, belongs to another time and place,a place when values were simpler,
folks were less uptight, clothes were looser and men had hats as big as their dreams"....
