My old room-mate came out to see me for the first time in 20 years, and of all our times together, he couldn't stop talking about KFAT. He misses it and still has the cassettes he recorded when we went to Stanford. I couldn't believe he still has them, and he has them on CD now, so he's sending them to me. My kids are gonna want to know about this.
Go, Gilbert- get it out there! I remember the morning show: Doo DOO doo....

It's late, and we're talking about KFAT radio, Gilroy, and the mid-'70's years. I was a deputy sheriff in those days, working midnights in the jail, and seriously in love with Sully. Well, I was. I think I still am, at least I would be willing to try. I still love you, Sully. Don't deny me my intense desire for you, Mama. This is the real thing. I think. Maybe. Worth a try, anyway, you Wild Thing.

OK. Sorry again. Just read the bit about 1 sentence....

So here goes....

"KFAT reduced the 'white noise' of 80's California into an
exciting, ecclectic blend of home-spun, self deprecating,
pablum-crushing, 'pushing the envelope' music and commentary.... the likes of which... in scope and sheer entertainment... have-to this humble listener-never been
surpassed or duplicated."

Forgot to mention just how MIND-BENDINGLY KICK-ASS KFAT was in it's hey-dey. I DETEST COUNTRY MUSIC, but, KFAT made it fun, political, and outrageous!

GOT TO READ THE BOOK!

Good Luck gilbert!
